Continuing Medical Education

The MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine Office of Continuing Medical Education provides professional development opportunities that enhance physicians' ability to care for their patients. We recognize the critical role that continuing medical education plays in preserving excellence in patient care and improving the well-being of patients and the community. We are committed to providing educational opportunities that strengthen participant competence, performance, and patient outcomes.

Our Purpose

To provide quality education to health care professionals throughout Michigan, the nation, and worldwide. 

To recognize the critical role that CME plays in the preservation of excellence in patient care and the enhancement of the well-being of patients. 

To evaluate and modify our programs continuously to ensure quality. 

To organize and direct in accordance with the current AOA and ACCME continuing medical education guidelines. 

To assist physicians in meeting their CME licensure requirements.

Target Audience

Healthcare professionals worldwide, including physicians, residents, nurses, physician assistants, physical therapists, and other allied health practitioners.

Accreditation

The Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine is dually accredited by the American Osteopathic Association and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Types of Activities

The college provides a wide array of educational activities, including live conferences and seminars, multi-day manual medicine courses, faculty development programs, web-based CME, and enduring materials. We also work with area hospitals to provide CME credit for medical grand rounds and case based-programs.

Accreditation certificate from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®), awarded to Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, recognizing its accreditation to provide continuing medical education for physicians through November 30, 2028.

AOA Accreditation

Certificate to Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, recognizing a 5-Year Accreditation with Commendation as a Category 1 CME Sponsor, awarded in October 2021 by the American Osteopathic Association through October 2026.
